What the job is
This is a job for a Shipwright with the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Garden Island, Australia. You will help build and fix the structures that hold ships in place while they are being repaired.
What you will do
You will build and repair the wood and metal supports for ships in dry docks. You will mark points to help line up ships correctly when they come into the dock. You will build and change platforms for workers to stand on while they work on ships. You will pick the right materials like wood or metal for each job. You will use math and tools like rulers, levels, and squares to measure everything accurately. You will also use power tools and large machines.
What you need
You need to know how to build and fix things using wood and metal. You need to be good at basic math and geometry for measuring and marking work. You should be comfortable using power tools and hand tools like saws and drills.
What you will get
You will earn between 30.07 and 35.07 per hour. You will work at a shipyard in Garden Island, Australia.
