What the job is
This job is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Inspector in the Texas Army National Guard in Gatesville, Texas. You must be a member of the Guard and wear a uniform. You will check heavy equipment to make sure it works safely.

What you will do
You will inspect big vehicles like tanks, cranes, fire trucks, and bulldozers. You will look at engines, brakes, steering, and other parts. You will use tools and test machines to check if parts are correct. You will decide if repairs are needed and write repair lists. You will check repairs are done right and approve or reject them. You may help other inspectors and be part of special teams.

What you need
You must belong to the Texas Army National Guard. You need a valid driver’s license if you drive. You must be able to get a security clearance. You must know how to use test equipment and read technical data. You must be able to work hard and follow safety rules.

What you will get
You will work full‑time on a compressed schedule from Tuesday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will get a salary between $32,030 and $37,360 per year. You will get benefits from the Guard. You will get training and a chance to work with advanced equipment.
