What the job is
This is a Staff Psychologist position at the Veterans Health Administration in Salisbury, North Carolina. You will help veterans recover from mental health issues.

What you will do
Diagnose mental disorders and run psychological tests. Treat patients with therapy and other methods. Do assessments and use the best therapy techniques. Review work with peers and make sure quality standards are met. Refer patients to other specialists and community programs. Keep accurate records and meet productivity goals. Supervise interns and residents. Lead and advise staff. Train medical students, residents, nurses, and other trainees. Help other staff understand veterans’ psychological needs. Monitor program outcomes and use data for quality improvement. Complete charting and documentation on time. Do research and present results. Write grant proposals. Serve on committees and represent the department. Work well with staff, visitors, and patients. Keep patient privacy.

What you need
You must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a drug test. You need to be registered with Selective Service if you are a male born after 1959. You must speak and write English well. You will have a background check. You must be willing to get a flu shot. You need a PhD in psychology and several years of experience.

What you will get
Work 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Competitive salary between $94,062 and $175,285. 37‑50 days of paid leave each year. 12 weeks of paid parental leave after 12 months.
