You will work as a school assistant in a special education classroom at Tarawa Terrace Elementary School in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Your goal is to help students learn and grow in a safe environment.
What you will do
Watch and help students during different parts of the school day. Help children with personal needs like eating and going to the bathroom. Assist teachers in the classroom with lessons. Handle office tasks like taking attendance and filing papers. Follow special learning plans to help students succeed. Join meetings with parents and teachers. Prepare tools and materials for class activities.
What you need
Experience or interest in working with children who have special needs. Ability to follow instructions from teachers and specialists. Basic computer skills for office tasks and record keeping.
