What the job is
This is a seasonal job working for the National Park Service in Talkeetna, Alaska. You will work on mountains like Denali. This job is temporary and lasts for up to six months. You may need to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you will do
You will lead mountain patrols at very high altitudes. You will help with search and rescue missions using climbing skills and medical training. You will use helicopters and planes to help people. You will travel by foot, skis, dog sleds, or small boats. You will talk to visitors and give them park permits. You will also help investigate accidents and write reports.

What you need
You must be a U.S. citizen. You need a valid driver's license. You must pass a drug test and a background check. You need high-level climbing and skiing skills. You must be able to carry heavy gear over 50 pounds. You must be able to survive in extreme cold temperatures. You need a Wilderness First Responder or EMT certificate. You also need Avalanche Level 1 training.

What you will get
The pay is between 27.54 and 35.54 dollars per hour. Government housing is available. You will receive a money allowance for your uniform. You will get to work in a famous and beautiful mountain range.
