What the job is
This program helps family members of U.S. government employees find work while living in Montevideo, Uruguay. It makes the hiring process faster for jobs at the embassy. Being part of this group does not mean you have a job yet.

What you will do
You will join a list of people who are ready to work. When a local position becomes available, you can apply for it. You will stay in this reserve group until you are hired for a job or leave the area. You will need to keep your security papers up to date.

What you need
You must be a U.S. citizen. You must be married to or a partner of a U.S. government employee. You must be on their official travel or residency paperwork. You cannot be a retired government worker receiving a pension.

What you will get
You do not get paid just for being in this group. There are no benefits at first. Once you are hired for a specific job, you will receive a salary and benefits for that position.
