What the job is
This job is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic in the Army National Guard in Joliet, Illinois. It is a Title 32 excepted service position.
What you will do
You will fix and maintain many kinds of vehicles and equipment. You will do checks, repairs, and big repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical parts. You will use tools like pressure gauges, voltmeters, and computer diagnostics. You will follow work orders, manuals, and safety rules. You will work on heavy trucks, tanks, and other special vehicles.
What you need
You must be a member of the Illinois National Guard and have the right military grade. You must wear a uniform. You must pass a background check. Men born after 1959 must register for Selective Service. You must be able to work extra hours when needed.
What you will get
