What the job is
This job is a recreation assistant at the Navy’s Point Loma Complex in San Diego, California. You will help run the Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.

What you will do
You will give customer service to people who use the recreation facilities. You will check that they are allowed to use the rooms, give them information about activities, open and close the facilities, order supplies, and make snack bar items. You will collect money from tickets, rentals and classes using a point‑of‑sale system and keep a daily report. You will help register people online and check out equipment. You will keep track of inventory and repair any damaged items. You will help run workshops and trips like camping, cycling and water sports. You will do paperwork, write reports, help schedule staff, and promote events. You will also keep the facilities clean, call maintenance when needed and help set up and break down events.

What you need
You should be friendly and good at talking with people. You need to be able to use a computer and a point‑of‑sale system. You must be able to do light physical work and follow safety rules. No specific degree is required.

What you will get
You will work up to 40 hours a week. You will earn $21.28 an hour. You will have a flexible schedule and be part of a Navy team that helps people relax and stay healthy.
