What the job is
This is a temporary job for a Service Shop Supervisor at Garden Island in Western Australia. You will work for the U.S. Pacific Fleet at the naval shipyard. You will lead a team and manage daily work in the maintenance shop.
What you will do
You will plan out daily tasks and set deadlines for the team. You will decide which materials and equipment are needed for each job. You will make sure everyone follows safety rules. You will handle office work like approving vacation time and checking staff performance. You will check all work to make sure it is high quality. You will go to training programs and share what you learn with your team. You will also help plan the shop budget and hiring needs.
What you need
You need experience leading people in a maintenance or repair setting. You should know how to plan work schedules and manage employees. You must be good at checking work quality and following safety rules. You should be able to handle administrative tasks like approving leave and talking to teams clearly.
