What the job is
This is a Recreation Assistant job in Great Lakes, Illinois. You will work with the Navy’s Fleet and Family Readiness Programs to help with recreation and retail activities.

What you will do
- Help with special events, programs, and retail operations like selling tickets or snacks.
- Assist customers with questions about activities, rentals, and facility use.
- Open and close facilities, handle money, and track sales using a computer system.
- Check out and check in equipment like camping gear, bikes, or water sports items.
- Organize and run workshops, trips, and events for fishing, hiking, skiing, and more.
- Keep track of supplies and equipment, and report any damage or missing items.
- Help plan, promote, and run fun activities and events for the community.
- Work with local groups to offer more recreation options.
- Follow health and safety rules, and help set up and clean up for events.
- Work a rotating schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
