What the job is
The Veterans Health Administration in Richmond, Virginia, is hiring a Stroke Doctor (Vascular Neurology Physician). This role focuses on diagnosing and treating patients with stroke and other brain and nerve disorders. The hospital is a Primary Stroke Center, offering 24/7 emergency stroke care, including advanced treatments.

What you will do
- Examine and treat patients with stroke, brain, and nerve problems in clinics, emergency rooms, and hospital wards.
- Order tests like CT scans, MRIs, and blood tests to diagnose issues.
- Prescribe treatments, including clot-busting drugs for stroke patients.
- Provide high-quality care to a diverse group of veterans.
- Stay updated on the latest stroke and neurology treatments.
- Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Follow safety and infection control rules.

What you need
- Must be a U.S. citizen (some exceptions may apply).
- Full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Pass a background check, drug test, and seasonal flu vaccination (required for all healthcare staff).
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
