What the job is
You will work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You will help design and plan earth and rock structures.
What you will do
Conduct studies of foundation stresses, seepage, slope stability, dewatering, and grouting. Write reports and technical memos. Prepare geotechnical parts of plans and specifications. Inspect construction sites to make sure they match the design. Develop designs for levees, breakwaters, roads, channel improvements, cut slopes, and earth dams. Compile data and write correspondence for the district’s geotechnical program.
What you need
A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. Good writing and communication skills. Ability to read and create technical documents.
