What the job is
We are hiring an Operating Room Nurse in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a part-time job with the Veterans Health Administration. You will help take care of patients before, during, and after surgery. This job is open until filled, and we review applications regularly.

What you will do
- Keep patients safe from injuries caused by chemicals, tools, or heat during surgery.
- Count surgical items to make sure nothing is left inside the patient.
- Double-check the correct surgery site and follow all safety rules.
- Handle patient samples properly.
- Give medications safely and correctly.
- Keep records of all care given during surgery.
- Follow all rules for using medical equipment.
- Prevent infections at the surgery site.
- Know what tools and supplies are used in the operating room.

What you need
- Must be a U.S. citizen (exceptions are rare).
- Must have a full nursing license from any U.S. state.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Must be registered with Selective Service if you are a male born after December 31, 1959.
- Must pass a physical exam.
- Must get a flu vaccine every year.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
