What the job is
This is a leadership role for a psychiatrist at the Veterans Health Administration in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will oversee mental health services for veterans, including inpatient and outpatient care. The job may offer help with student loan repayment for qualified candidates.

What you will do
- Lead and supervise the psychiatry team in outpatient and inpatient mental health care
- Be on call for emergency psychiatric care, including weekends and holidays
- Oversee and train doctors, residents, and other mental health staff
- Ensure high-quality care and treatment for patients with mental health issues
- Handle administrative tasks like approving leave requests and managing team schedules
- Participate in hospital committees and education programs
- Follow safety rules and keep patient records up to date
- Teach medical students and residents as part of the job

What you need
- U.S. citizenship (some exceptions may apply)
- Full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Must pass a drug test, background check, and physical exam
- Must be vaccinated for seasonal flu (required for all healthcare staff)
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service
