What the job is
The Veterans Health Administration in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking for a Psychiatry Section Chief. This is a leadership role for a doctor specializing in mental health. You will oversee mental health services for veterans and may qualify for a student loan repayment program.

What you will do
Lead and supervise a team of psychiatrists and mental health staff. Provide mental health care in different settings like inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and emergency departments. Be on call for emergencies, including weekends and holidays. Train and guide residents and other staff. Ensure high-quality care and follow safety rules. Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement projects. Teach medical students and residents if needed.

What you need
You must be a U.S. citizen or meet special requirements. Have a full, unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state. Be proficient in English. Pass a background check, drug test, and physical exam. Males born after 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. You may need to get a flu vaccine.

What you will get
Competitive salary between $260,000 and $335,000 per year. Possible sign-on bonus and annual performance bonus. 50-55 days of paid time off per year (including holidays and sick leave).
