What the job is
This is an IT Specialist position located in Anchorage, Alaska. You will work for the Department of Veterans Affairs in the Office of Information and Technology. Your main goal is to make sure all computer systems and devices work correctly for the staff.
What you will do
You will fix software and hardware problems over the phone or in person. You will set up new computers, laptops, tablets, and phones. You will move and install technical equipment when needed. You will keep track of all technical items and update records. You will also train other team members and help keep server rooms organized. You may need to lift items that weigh up to 50 pounds. You might need to work extra hours if you are called back for a technical emergency.

You must be a citizen of the United States. You must pass a background check and a drug test. You need to be comfortable walking, bending, and carrying computer equipment. You must complete an online assessment as part of your application. You will also need a valid ID that meets federal standards to start work.
What you will get
You will receive a salary between 89508 and 116362 dollars per year. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. You will work in a safe and comfortable office. There may be opportunities to work from home sometimes with your manager's permission.
