What the job is
You will work for the U.S. House of Representatives in Melbourne, Florida. The job is a two‑year paid fellowship for Veterans, Gold Star families, and active‑duty spouses. You will be a congressional aide.
What you will do
You will help people in the community with federal problems. You will talk to veterans groups. You will go to local events and meetings for the congressperson. You may do other tasks that the office needs.
What you need
You must be a veteran, a Gold Star family member, or a spouse of an active‑duty service member. Veterans must have an honorable discharge and be out of the military within six years. Pay grades must be at or below E‑5/O‑3/W‑2. Gold Star families are spouses, children, parents, or siblings of a veteran who died in service or from a service‑connected disability. Spouses must be married to an active‑duty member. No exceptions are allowed.
What you will get
You will get a full‑time paid job for two years. The pay is between $56,000 and $68,000. You will gain experience that can help you in future jobs.
