The Veterans Health Administration is hiring Medical Supply Technicians in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You will work in the Sterile Processing Service to make sure medical tools are clean and safe for patients.
What you will do
You will receive used medical equipment and clean it properly. You will take tools apart and use special washing machines or chemicals to disinfect them. You will inspect the equipment to make sure it is in good condition and put it back together. You will pack tools to be sterilized and keep careful records of your work every day. You will also make sure all clean tools are stored safely.
What you need
You must be a U.S. citizen and pass a drug test and background check. You need to speak and write English clearly. You must finish a special training program within 90 days of starting the job. You are required to get a flu shot every year and have a valid form of identification like a REAL ID.
