What the job is
The Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System is hiring a full-time Physician Assistant in Health Informatics. This role is based in Iowa City, Iowa, and supports the VA’s mission to provide excellent healthcare for veterans. The job helps improve healthcare delivery by using technology and information systems to enhance patient care.

What you will do
- Work with healthcare teams to improve how patient information is managed and used.
- Help develop and improve computer systems that support patient care.
- Advise leaders on how to use technology to make healthcare better.
- Solve problems related to health information and clinical processes.
- Support the use of electronic health records and decision-making tools for doctors, nurses, and other staff.
- Act as a leader for change, ensuring technology helps veterans get the best care possible.

What you need
- Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizens may be considered if no qualified citizens apply).
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Must pass a physical exam before starting.
- Must get a flu shot every year if working in healthcare.
- Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with Selective Service.
- Must meet all education and experience requirements for a Physician Assistant role.

What you will get
- Full-time position with a salary range of $111,047 to $175,827 per year.
- Possible promotion to a higher level without reapplying, based on performance.
- Eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (student loan repayment up to $200,000).
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (flexible hours may be discussed).
